What is LERNIX?
LERNIX is a tool that uses artificial intelligence to help you study. Instead of giving you the answers, it asks you questions so that you explain what you understood. Explaining helps you learn better and helps your teacher see where you need help.
Why do I have an account?
Your educational institution enabled your access to LERNIX, and your parent or representative authorized you to use it. They received information about LERNIX before giving that authorization.
What information does LERNIX use?
To work, LERNIX may use:
- Your assignments, essays and class materials.
- What you write or say during a conversation with the tutor (if you use your voice, a transcript of what you said is generated).
- Basic information from your account, such as your name and email address.
- Some technical signals from the session, to verify the integrity of the session, such as when you paste text from somewhere else or when you leave the conversation.
LERNIX does not sell your information or use it to train general artificial intelligence models, unless it has been anonymized so that it can no longer be known that it is yours; in that case, LERNIX may use it to improve the tool.
Who can see my conversations?
Your teacher and the authorized people at your institution can see your conversations, submissions and feedback related to their classes. No one outside your institution and LERNIX can access that information without authorization. Within LERNIX, only a small technical team can access it when needed to provide support or protect the platform.
Does LERNIX use artificial intelligence?
Yes. Artificial intelligence generates the questions and the feedback, and suggests a grade range. But the final grade is always decided by your teacher, after reviewing what you did: artificial intelligence can make mistakes and does not have the last word.
Your rights
Even though permission to use LERNIX is given by your representative, you also have rights over your information, according to your age and maturity:
- You can ask for an explanation of what information is used and what for.
- You can ask for any of your data that is wrong to be corrected.
- You can ask about or challenge a result generated by artificial intelligence through your teacher or through LERNIX.
For more detail, you can review (or ask your representative to review with you) the full LERNIX Privacy Policy.
Do you have questions?
You can write to [email protected] or talk to your teacher or to the person in charge of technology at your institution.
